The other cool thing about the rally? Having seven house guests (four were mine!).

The Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear
We were planning on taking the metro to get down to the Mall, but this is what the crowd looked like an hour before the rally was supposed to begin:
So we walked.
Signs! Obviously the best part of the rally.
There were lots of people.
Lots and lots of people. Some of them were in trees.

Or standing on top of crossing lights.

More people in trees. These trees were not very easy to climb, and some of them nearly fell out.
I loved this one: will intelligently discuss issues for food.
The Washington Monument is in the background
Julia. Roommate and anarchist cheerleader. Totally awesome.
Me. Happy to have a little elbow room. For a few minutes, anyway.

Yes!

The rally was quite the experience. Mostly it was frustrating, because I couldn't see anything and could barely hear what was being said. I had to watch it online like everyone else. But it was a unique experience. Thanks, DC. Best part of the day? Hanging out in front of the Dragon Boat and dancing for a half hour or so.
Samuel Gompers statue on the walk home.
Some video.
